Church Planting

The principle of church planting was hatched by Pastor Steven in the early days of the ministry. Churches are planted in areas that are previously un churched or when the focus is no longer Christ in that area. The churches started are not automatically named “ Calvary Temple ” the name the ministry uses on churches it has started, although many of them use it. 152 churches have used Calvary Temple of the 268 churches the Africa Harvest Mission has planted and taken up for care and ministry. Other churches as Kyaka Calvary Temple on the Ugandan boarder was closed during territorial disputes between the two countries, Uganda and Tanzania .

The story of Church Planting.

Reach un reached, Church un churched The passion for church planting was first hatched by Pastor Steven, as a result of the numerous people who accepted Christ at the evangelistic meetings and were left like sheep with out a shepherd.

The pull on either sides - Evangelistic meetings and Church planting was relieved by the coming of Pastor John Mark Senkubuge as Director, Church Planting to Africa Harvest Mission.

Pastors to place in these newly set up churches are got from the School of Ministry and/or from the local area. The problem of attaching Pastors to the local church are many ranging from integration into the community by the pastor through financing and logistics. However, for a purposed heart, impossible is just another word for hardship.

In doing all this, Africa Harvest Mission faces the challenge of a mobile trainning center where pastors can be visited and they have to travel shorter distances to get training. Depending in the availability of resources, Africa Harvest Mission provides roofing material up to 50feet by 30feet this too is a need of the ministry. Needless to say, a printing press would go a long way in cutting down cost.
